Spring Term 2025

March 2025

Willow class had a super trip to Paxton Pits! The children were transported back in time looking at how Paxton Pits would have looked one million years ago. Then children took part in pond dipping, bug hunting and dug for fossils! A fantastic day was had by all.

February 2025

In Art the children have been printing, all the children created a block print and then used their block to print a design.  Then children designed a different print linking to volcanoes and created a mono print.

In year three, the children are learning all about the human skeleton! The children used tape to identify different bones which are part of their skeleton and then discussed why the skeleton is important.

January 2025

We have been learning all about what is under our feet! Using Purple Mash, the children have shown the inner core, outer core, mantle and crust.

Autumn Term 2024

December 2024

Willow class have worked extremely hard in Design and Technology.

The children were asked "If you were in the Stone Age and you found some stone which you wanted to share with you family, how would you transport them home?". The children came up with lots of great suggestions and then decided to create pouch. The children designed their pouches with inspiration from Rachel Boston. After the initial designs, the children created a template and cut out their chosen colour felt and added their design. Then, the children used an overstitch to create their seam and a running stitch for the draw string.

November 2024

In Science, Year 3 are learning all about rocks! The children have enjoyed identifying and looking closely at the different rocks. The children worked together to  sort based on appearance.

October 2024

Willow class have enjoyed researching online and in books to find information for their non chronological reports about the Stone Age. All the children worked hard to include fronted adverbials and a range of technical vocabulary within their reports.

On Monday 21st October, Willow Class enjoyed going back in time to the Stone Age! Throughout the day, we created a cave from modroc and painted it so it looked like cave paintings, we carved into soap and clay, used a needle and wool to weave and finally we made small clay pots.

All of the children learnt new and interesting skills on this day. A fantastic day was had by all.
